Faith formation – News about next year!

On the advice of our Parent Advisory Group, and to offer our families more support, we have adjusted our program. We envision that these changes will not only grow our program, but will also accommodate the needs of our families.   

Grades 1-8

• Hybrid model with in-person every other week and at-home learning using the Finding God curriculum
• All Grade 1-8 in-person classes begin the week of September 22
• Classes to be held Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday from 5 PM - 6 PM (selection dependent upon volunteer teachers)
• Grades 1 & 2 Parent Night (required) – Monday, September 16, 7 PM.
• Grades 3 - 8 Parent Night (required) – Tuesday, September 17, 7 PM. 

Confirmation – Grades 9 & 10

• All classes will be held in person, twice a month with grades 9 & 10 attending at the same time & on the same night
• Grades 9 & 10 Parent Night – September 22, 6:15 PM.
• Grades 9 & 10 first class – September 29, 6:15 PM – 7:45 PM (note time change!)
• The Archdiocese of Boston has recommended Confirmation be moved to Grade 8. We would use the following schedule to implement this:

2024-25:  Grades 9 & 10 confirmed together

2025-26:  Grades 8 & 9 confirmed together

2026-27:  Grade 8 Confirmation

Online student registration will begin June 1. Grades 1 - 8 will be able to choose a preferred class day (M, T, or W). Class space is limited. Register early! There is a $10 discount for families teaching at home exclusively. This year, we are running an Early Bird special of a $25 discount for registrations before June 30.

We have received questions regarding the cost of the program. The tuition covers more than the just the book. It also includes building use, supplies, salaries, speakers, and extra-curricular activities. The parish does not make a profit. In fact, the faith formation program is subsidized in the amount of $25,000 by the parish.

We are looking for faith-filled volunteers who attend Mass weekly and who love the Lord. You do not need to be an expert. Materials and guidance provided. Questions? The Faith Formation Office would be happy to answer them!
